I have just re-installed Win7 64-bit on a Haswell (i7-4770) machine, and started with Cosmology again on 4 cores (three others are on ATLAS, and one more supports a pair of GTX 750 Tis on Einstein). I am using BOINC 7.6.29 and VirtualBox 5.0.20, and it is working well for the most part. But I have been picking up a few of the above errors, about once per day. Is that normal, or is something wrong on my PC? I have plenty of memory, and don't overclock anything. Exit status 1 unknown error (The first error is something else, and I am not concerned about it for the moment.) |

A little experimentation indicates that I eliminate the errors by not running ATLAS with Cosmology. I may be able to run a single vLHC-dev task (either vLHCb or CMS) without problems, but two or more causes Cosmology errors also. It would take more long-term testing to see what the limits really are, but I will just run Cosmology on a separate machine than the CERN projects from now on. |
